Thurrock and Basildon College
Thurrock & Basildon College offers the very best in Further Education, corporate training and distance learning.
Brief After the merger of the two previously independent colleges, Thurrock & Basildon College required a website that would build on new partnerships, reinforce previous achievements and present a cohesive identity.
The College wished to provide information on both part-time and fulltime course prospectus, which meant the development of a substantial database.
The college has a diverse audience and particular attention needed to be spent making sure the website was accessible to everyone, including those with learning difficulties and disabilities.
Solutions One of the main considerations for this project was accessibility, we made sure the website was available to all by ensuring we adhered to W3C and WAI guidelines.
The website can be viewed in various formats and uses intuative, clear navigation. Particular care was taken to the design and build of an interface that is intuitive and easy to use with information being extremely simple to find, most being only three button-clicks away at any time.
To reduce maintainance costs, we built in tools which enable the courses to be updated by the college, the tools create DDA compliant pages.
'I wholeheartedly recommend MOMO and the service that this company offers.
We have used them for several years and for many projects, and have always found them to be an excellent, reliable and cost-effective company. Their creative team is extremely professional and they have met all set deadlines on time.
I cannot emphasise enough the quality of their work and creative skills across the board, and would not hesitate in either using them for future projects, or in recommending their services to others.'

Results Momo have created a website that excels the College's original expectations.
The website reinforces and supports the whole ethos of the College in that learning should be acessible to all and involve the wider community and local business.
Visitors to the website can increase the size of the text at the press of a button, we also created a text version of the website in accordance with new legislation ensuring people with disabilities are able to access this information.
The website falls in line with DDA compliancy regulations, now statutory for public sector website.
Sitting behind the website is a suite of tools that allows regular and easy updating of content by the College, making their site an invaluable and inexpensive tool in increasing student numbers, generating awareness and creating a successful new identity for students and staff.
