BTC - Caspian Development

The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) project is a $2.9 billion investment to unlock a vast store of energy from the Caspian Sea by providing a new crude oil pipeline from Azerbaijan, through Georgia, to Turkey for onward delivery to world markets.

Brief
Working with a team of consultants based in five countries, our challenge was to manage and coordinate the publication of approx 8,000 documents, in Russian, Azeri, Georgian, Turkish and English onto the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) site - all within a time critical deadline.

Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan teamed with Momo to produce a website that would provide a platform to deliver critical information to a wide range of stakeholders on all four projects in the Caspian. BTC were also keen to ensure server security and service reliability.

Solutions
Momo acted as the single point of accountability to coordinate the collation of the documentation, employing robust project management when accuracy and time were critical factors.

The website is information rich and database driven, for that reason we built the BTC website using our Shift CMS architecture. Providing administration tools and a document management system for BTC, means they can ensure that content remains up to date and it's simple to make changes at the eleventh hour.

We also supplied BTC with e-newsletter tools which they use to send a monthly progress bulletin, enabling the company to effectively communicate with project stakeholders across the globe.

Results
Momo produced the BTC website and tailored a managed service plan around BTC's service requirement. Momo continue to provide hosting, updating and support of the website, our clients confidently rely upon us to act in their best interest and know we deliver effective communications solutions.

The Internet provides an ideal platform to publicise and disclose project issues and advances. BTC have found the website invaluable in making sure each stage of their project is transparent and open.

Shift CMS tools save BTC time and money and ensure content is up to date, our project management and coordination of documentation freed up BTC resources, the managed service plan continues to support BTC's communications strategy. E-newsletter tools keep the information flowing between BTC and NGO's, environmental groups and financial stakeholders.
